1/06/26 Epiphany Resolutions and Solutions

Namaste Bright Light Stars of True North Direction!

I greet you on this Epiphany Day, Transformational Tuesday, with a spiritual soup of offerings! Here is a vlog I recorded on Saturday, 1/3/26, as a separate commentary from the one I did for that day's Saturday Soul Playhouse.

I had completed my Spirit commitment of showing up every 2025 Saturday for the Soul Playhouse started on Llamas, 8/2/25. I was reluctant yet willing to continue so here is the 1st '26 Saturday Soul Playhouse airing late in the day 1/3/26.

The personal life and spiritual insight blog and vlogs that I have shared here over the many years (since 2008) are transitioning to the Soul Playhouse space found @ famlit.tv and YouTube.

I will use the New Thought Families spaces to be focused on Spiritual Family Literacy which began @ newthoughtfamilies.com on 2/7/2007. I am using the A~Z format with the For Humanity daily Play and Pray Calendar for 2026; first aired in 2016 and now in video streaming format.

If you have followed me here ~ thank you ~ you will recognize that I started this alphabetical process last July after my move to Mount Shasta. My intention then was to take the 2nd half of 2025 and condense the year long A ~ Z offerings into a half year. I spent that month reconnecting with content all across my digital library, creating anew, and ultimately slipping into overwhelm and exhaustion. In the 8/3/25 blog here, I asked the questions,"Do you ever question your direction? When is the last time you changed direction? Do you think of divine direction as a straight line?" And now, in this beginning of the new year, this day of Epiphany, I ask the same questions with a much larger and deeper dose of (self) compassion. As the 1/3/26 vlog speaks to, I am allowing change at the pace of grace. I am choosing to believe more in the north star, recurring Spirit urgings and whatever steps I am making, and believe less in any concepts of 'failure'. I am also choosing to realign with the things I find I said I would do and didn't ~ as spoken of in the 1/3/26 vlog ~ both of those things had to do with music and I have calendarized them for this month! I am still working on the visuals and some logistics yet for now, here's a January 2026 musical online calendar snapshot:

For the rest of today's offering, I have put my ponderings into a poem. I am heart thinking about my personal path and also the one we face as a nation. Given the continued acts of violence and lawlessness from our current administration, I feel the need to speak out in whatever small way I have.

Gifts of Epiphanies2026 Laurie Story Vela

We long for the grand aha epiphany
that says go this way or that,
that says THIS is the way to be!

Sometimes the inspiration information comes
in a lightening bolt of sharp revolt.
Most often, we are shaped thought by thought,
quiet words, small steps, water over stone
continuously shaping our reality.

In lieu of recognizing and honoring the moments
and the subtle whispers of growth and change,
too often we point in condemnation and judgmentally claim
FAILURE
or we look away, emersed in the flow that is shaping us, distracted and in
DENIAL

With a focus on failure, our repeating patterns of unrealized dreams
are fueled into manifestation without full realization

With a focus on denial, our repeating patterns of unwanted outcomes
are fueled into manifestation by sheer procrastination

In the Spirit of believing hearts on this Epiphany,
I recommit to following my north star of guidance,
recognizing and honoring small thoughts, words, deeds
as dedication to the dream of me
I was birthed to be.

I recognize and honor our birthright gifts of Light
fueled by gold, frankincense and myrrh as wise offerings
for body, mind, Spirit wellness, wellbeing, and safe keeping
through humanity's ancestral ages and storied pages.

With this Spirit of recognition, I turn now to our nation.
5 years ago, a violent insurrection later pardoned
and passed off by too many in denial or indifference.
Now emboldened; innocent people jailed, troops in our streets,
checks and balances ignored in a whooshing flood
of patriarchal erosion to what once was our democracy.
Broken laws ignored domestically now fueling international
atrocities with boats blown up, leaders kidnapped, eyes on the oil,
and an unrealistic claim to supremacy.

AHA! Wake up to the epiphanies of the truth you know to be.
You can believe him when he says we have a great economy
or you can trust your experience of the price of groceries.
You can cheer him on for his insurrections, believing he has cause
or you can pause and wonder how society prospers under Project 2025 laws.
Whether you agree or disagree, we are no longer free to feed democracy
when decisions and revisions are made with lawless and blatant hypocrisy.

On this day of storied Epiphany
who do we choose to be
as individual hearts
as community
as society
as humanity

It really is up to you and me,
to choose empathy or cruelty
in each word, small step,
and choice to see
and choice to embody
the Light of Love
we are created to be.
